Lawrence “Punk” House

NORTH TURNER – Lawrence “Punk” House, 86, a resident of North Turner passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at his residence.

He was born Nov. 6, 1934, the son of Maynard House and Francena (Starbird) House. Punk graduated from Leavitt Institute in 1953 where he played baseball and basketball. He married the love of his life, LaVerna Gibbs on May 1, 1955.

He served on the Turner Volunteer Fire Department and loved a good chicken barbecue. He was a former member of the snowmobile club and had fond memories of his snowmobile trip to Yellowstone National Park.

Punk served two terms on the school board and later served as Selectman from 2003 to 2013. He was a Brother and Past Master of Nezinscot Lodge No. 101 in Turner and was a past member of Kora Temple in Lewiston. Punk was a member, Elder, and Lay Pastor in North Turner Presbyterian Church. He had a terrific sense of humor matched only by his love of family and community.
