Kathy Palmer

RUMFORD – Mrs. Kathy Palmer, 68, died Friday June 4, 2021 at the Hospice House in Auburn. She resided on Wyman Hill Road in Rumford. Born in Rumford, on Sept. 9, 1952, she was a daughter of Wallace and Kathleen (Hodgson) Varnum.

Kathy was a graduate of Mexico High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Cozy Inn Nursing Home in Rumford. Kathy had a love of sewing and being surrounded by family. Her favorite saying in life was “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”.

Kathy was a member of Robert Shand Post #1641 VFW where she held every position of office at one point or another. She was also a member of the Dixfield American Legion Post #100

She was married in Rumford on July 21, 1984 to John Palmer who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include her mother Kathleen Powell of Dixfield; brothers, Jewels Varnum of Mexico, Silver Varnum and his wife Angela of Dixfield and Rock Varnum of Saco and Diamond Varnum and wife Debbie of Carthage, sisters, Pearl Semick and husband Dennis of Ohio and Opal Varnum of Rumford. She was predeceased by her father Wallace; her brothers Wallace, Jr and Leroy, and her sister Ruby.
