We made it to July. Whew! Now that pandemic restrictions are letting up, Independence Day’s looking a little closer to normal; across Maine, spectators will be able to watch fireworks displays, mingle maskless and maybe nab some funnel cake if they’re well-positioned near the good food stands. Here’s what to look out for in our area.

THE LIBERTY FEST IS BACK

Although it’ll skip the vendors and live music this year, the Liberty Fest is still on, and it won’t come up short on fanfare. Fireworks in the Twin Cities start at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3, with a rain date of July 5. Not sure where to set up camp this weekend? There’s a map for that on the Liberty Festival’s Facebook page and on Lewiston’s website. And while the Great Falls Brewfest is also off the docket for the Fourth, Baxter Brewing Co. says that something’s coming for later this year, likely in partnership with Lost Valley.
