Caring for the community one represents is one of the most important qualities a council candidate can have.

Amy Sanchez cares deeply for her neighborhood and Lewiston as a whole. At the beginning of the pandemic, she made 2,000-plus masks to donate to the community, helping safeguard her neighbors.

Soon after leaving St. Martin De Porres Residence as a guest, Amy returned to volunteer cooking dinners — something she continues doing to this day. Amy understands the plight of the homeless, having experienced it herself, and treats the guests as peers while helping locate resources they need.

Amy’s desire to help her neighbors and her love of animals led to the creation of Kommunity Krittters, run in collaboration with Kaydenz Kitchen, a local resource assisting people with pet needs.

Amy is a good neighbor in her community and would make an excellent representative for the “tree neighborhoods” and all of Ward 5.
