Trunk-or-Treat
West Paris Rec. & West Paris Fire Department present this year’s Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, October 31 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will be located on Kingsbury Street and the West Paris Town Office parking lot. If you would like to register your trunk, please email angiepaine@hotmail.com. There is no fee to participate. The only expense is treats to pass out and trunk decorations. This is a free, safe, and unique way to Trick-or-Treat, by going Trunk-to-Trunk in a fun and friendly family atmosphere.
Movie Night
West Paris Rec. Dept will be hosting an outdoor movie night located at the West Paris Baseball Field on Saturday, October 16. The movie playing that evening will be Hocus Pocus. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at 6:30 p.m. There is no fee to get in; however, donations are accepted. Our snack shack will be open and serving pizza, popcorn, snacks, and drinks. The proceeds from the event will benefit the West Paris Rec. Dept. The rain date will be Friday, October 22. Come one, come all!
Book sale
PARIS — The Paris Public Library is holding its final used book sale of 2021 on Saturday, October 30, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, with an entirely “new” selection of items being offered. The sale will have hundreds of used books in good to excellent condition. The sale will be held in the driveway between the Paris Public Library and the Paris Town Office. In case of inclement weather, the book sale will be held instead downstairs in the nearby Deering Memorial Community Center. The sales this year have raised over $3,000 for the library’s children’s collection. OXFORD — Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19, of Stoneham, met on September 23 at the home of sister Margaret Babineau in East Oxford. Two members joined by way of Zoom from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nominations were made for the coming year. We will be gathering items to send to Togus Veterans Hospital and items to fill Christmas stockings for our shut-ins. Our tent will be in recess until February.
