Since moving where I live now I have been helping any senior citizen who needs it.
Many who are living on Social Security — plus myself — can’t understand why, when they pass on, they get $255 for burial, although the cost now is from $8,000 to $9,000.
Living on Social Security is hard enough for many, and with what they receive each month it doesn’t pay their food, medical bills, rent and so many other things.
One lady I assist and run errands for had cat tuna fish on the list, although she doesn’t have a cat. When I asked her about this, she told me that she and many others have to eat it to save.
I couldn’t believe this, but went out and bought a case of real tuna (48 cans) for her, and she cried. This really hurt me, and I had to leave because it brought tears to my eyes, too.
Please, can’t the state help?
