I have long realized that the average citizen, myself included, is no rocket scientist. The pandemic has made me see how greatly I have underestimated human stupidity, be it ignorance or arrogance, probably both.

Too many people spend too much time with the “f” words, Fox and Facebook, thus becoming another “f” word, fool.I can understand using caution when the vaccines first arrived. However, at some point there should have been an “ah ha” moment. Refusal to mask is insane, except for a very few medical exceptions. I’ve seen many very young kids masked and not fussing. It seems that only the “adult” babies are fussing over masks, and giving school officials a hard time.

The really annoying people are the political and religious leaders who seem to care not for those looking to them for leadership. And think about all those folks who have crowded into planes or on cruise ships in the middle of a pandemic.Stupidity goes way beyond the pandemic. Look at the Republican convention a year ago and the nonsense in describing it.Then we have all those waiting for “Uncle Joe” to send over their new snowmobile or big screen TV.And, we have all those people tailgating on the highway.Another example might be the new tourist business into space, when we are supposedly trying to deal with climate change. I think, hoping I’m wrong, that the climate problem will never be turned around.
