WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
TUFTS 63, BATES 52: Maggie Russell had 23 points and 16 rebounds for the Jumbos (13-2, 3-1 NESCAC) in their win over the Bobcats (11-2, 3-1) in Medford, Massachusetts, on Saturday.

Megan Kennedy had 13 points, Meghan Graff 12 and Brianna Gadaleta 10 for the Bobcats.

HUSSON 71, UMF 61: The Eagles (8-4, 6-0 NAC) finished on a 10-2 run in the final 4:15 to secure a victory over the Beavers (6-6, 1-3) in Farmington.

Husson outscored UMaine-Farmington 24-16 in the fourth thanks to 10 points from Bailey Donovan, who finished with a game-high 27 points and 15 rebounds.

Husson entered the fourth with a 47-45 lead, but UMF tied the game at 52-52 on a McKenna Brodeur 3-pointer with 7:06 left. Brodeur finished with a team-high 20 points and four 3-pointers.

Page Brown and Bea Stafford each added 10 points for the Beavers.

Makaelyn Porter scored 16 points and Megan Peach had 14 for Husson.

SOUTHERN MAINE 63, KEENE STATE 57: Former Lewiston High School standout Victoria Harris had 19 points as the Huskies (4-8, 3-2 Little East) downed the Owls (4-9, 1-5) in Gorham.

Harris had seven points during a 13-4 run in the fourth quarter that helped the Huskies to a 55-45 lead with 4:02 left.

The Owls were able to cut he lead to 55-52 with 1:05 remaining, before Harris, Ashlee Aceto and Amy Fleming each made a pair of free throws, and Katie Bagley and Jackie Luckhardt each had a made single foul shots in the final minute to ice it.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
TUFTS 71, BATES 70: The Jumbos (7-8, 2-1 NESCAC) finished the game on an 8-0 run to take down the Bobcats (6-7, 0-4) in Lewiston.

Tufts’ Dylan Thoerner hit two free throws to cut Bates’ lead to 70-69 with 54 seconds left in the game. Then, with 10 seconds left, Thoerner hit a layup to give the Jumbos the lead and the win.

Thoerner finished with 23 points. Tufts’ Luke Rogers led all scorers with 32 points. He also grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked two shots.

Bates was led by Jacob Iwowo’s 13 points.

HUSSON 73, UMF 67: The Eagles (7-7, 4-1 NAC) won the second half in Farmington to earn their second win in two days over the Beavers (6-5, 202 NAC).

UMaine-Farmington, held a two-point lead at halftime, but was outscored 43-35 in the second half.

Husson’s Justice Kendall drained four 3-pointers and led all scorers with 20 points. Teammate Justin Thompson added 14 points, while DJ Bussey and Jared Balser chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively.

The Beavers were led by Drew Storey’s 16 points. Dylan Griffin added 10.

UMF was without Terion Moss, the second-leading scorer in NCAA Division III, for the third game this week due to health and safety protocols.

UMBC 88, MAINE 46: Nathan Johnson scored 17 points as Maryland-Baltimore County beat the University of Maine in Bangor.

Keondre Kennedy had 15 points and seven rebounds for UMBC (7-10, 2-4 America East Conference). Yaw Obeng-Mensah added 12 points and seven rebounds. Szymon Wojcik had seven rebounds.

The Retrievers forced a season-high 21 turnovers.

UMBC dominated the first half and led 45-20 at halftime. The Black Bears scored just 20 points in the first half.

Adefolalrin Adetogun had 10 points for the Black Bears (3-13, 0-5), whose losing streak reached seven games. Kristians Feierbergs added nine rebounds.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY
MAINE 3, MERRIMACK 1: Alyssa Wruble scored from Ali Beltz and Taylor Leech 2:14 into the second period and Beltz followed with a power-play goal 4:42 later as the Black Bears (10-13-1, 8-8-1 America East) took a 2-0 advantage and downed the Warriors (5-18-1, 4-14-1) in Orono.

Jennier Costa added an unassisted goal early in the third for Maine, before Merrimack got on the board with a power-play goal from Madison Oelkers.

Loryn Porter stopped 29 shots for the Black Bears, while Emma Gorski had 14 saves for the Warriors.
