100 Years Ago: 1922

Special internal revenue officer A.E. Ech, who has been at the Auburn Chamber of Commerce for several days, was busy every minute Saturday, it being his last day at the chamber. Hundreds have applied to him for aid in making out their income tax returns.

50 Years Ago: 1972

Planning for the Spring Policeman’s Ball is underway In Auburn. This year the event will be held Saturday night, April 26 at the rollerdrome in New Auburn. There will be dancing from eight to midnight. Tickets may be secured from any police officer.

25 Years Ago: 1997

Sue Rowan of the YWCA will speak and show a video on the new YWorld program at a meeting of the Auburn Exchange Club at noon Tuesday at Rolandeau’s Restaurant. Future programs include discussion on the gun show March 18 with Chris Bellevue. Kent Mileikis will introduce Norman Renaud of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce at the March 25 meeting.
