LIVERMORE FALLS — A local man was hurt Saturday night when he lost control of his motorcycle and went off the road near 64 Record Road, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Monday.

Jeffrey Brown was thrown from the motorcycle and received minor injuries to his head and possibly his chest, Steward said.

Brown was taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Sgt. Michael Adcock responded to the report of the crash about 10:20 p.m.

Firefighters at the time were battling a fire on Pleasant Street, also known as state Route 133, Fire Rescue Chief Mike Booker said. He sent a crew from Livermore and a Livermore Falls firefighter to assist at the crash scene. Turner Rescue’s emergency medical crew and ambulance also responded to assist.

The crash is still under investigation.

“Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash,” Steward said.
