Joan M. Lynch B1929 – 2022BLEWISTON – Joan M. Lynch, 92, a resident of Lewiston and longtime former Concord, N.H., resident passed away peacefully in her sleep at home following a brief illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 19, 1929, the daughter of the late Brig. General Charles M. and Catherine (Conley) Filliettaz

Joan attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School, and was a 1948 graduate of Lewiston High School, Before her marriage she was employed at the former Bates Mill Lab here in Lewiston, She married at the former St. Joseph’s Church to her husband, Paul R. Lynch on Aug. 21, 1954, until he passed away on Aug. 4, 2014 just shy of their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

She loved being a mother and grandmother to her children and cherished every holiday with family. She enjoyed shopping for a great buy and finding that special deal, In her younger years she enjoyed skiing and figure skating. In later years she enjoyed travelling and her winter home in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Survivors include her three sons, Jim and his wife Jennifer of Auburn, Brian of Lisbon, Kevin of Auburn, and her daughter Mary-Beth and her husband Paul LaBarre of Auburn. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Kelly Lynch and Emma and her husband, Parker Callaghan all of New York, Tom Lynch and his partner, Alexis Millington, Briana Lynch and her fiancé Jacob Williams all of Boston. Also surviving are two sister in laws, Sylvia (Heathco) Filliettaz of Cape Neddick, and Betty (Bosse) Filliettaz of Hamden. As well as seven nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her lifelong friends from the Lewiston High School class of 1948.

Besides her husband Paul she was predeceased by her siblings, Betty Crowley, Daniel, Claire, Henry and Richard Filliettaz.

A Mass of Christian burial honoring Joan’s life will be celebrated 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, at Holy Family Church Sabattus St., Lewiston. Burial will be held Tuesday, May 31, 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Biddeford.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday May 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston.
