Two of Central Maine Community College’s most-decorated basketball players will be enshrined in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Hall of Fame this coming weekend.

Patrick Dempsey and Susie French will both be inducted into the USCAA Hall of Fame during a ceremony at Holiday Inn By The Bay in Portland on Sunday.

Dempsey was a three-time USCAA First Team All-American player during his career that spanned from 2001-05, with the Mustangs reaching the USCAA national tournament each year. He scored 1,096 career points for Central Maine and is the men’s basketball program leader with 1,307 career assists.

French spent just two seasons with the Central Maine women’s basketball team (2012-14) before receiving a scholarship to NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce University, but in that time she was a two-time USCAA First Team All-American and two-time YSCC Player of the Year. She re-wrote the CMCC women’s basketball record book for steals, setting program marks for single-game total, season total, season average and career average. She also is the Mustangs’ career leader in points per game.
