POLAND — A home and garage were gutted by fire Thursday night in a blaze that may have been sparked by a golf cart battery.

Fire crews from several area towns went to 24 North Raymond Road at about 10 p.m. after the homeowner reported his garage in flames.
The first firefighters on scene reported that the home was engulfed by flames. Firefighters were called from Oxford, Minot and other towns to assist.
There were no reported injuries.
WGME reported on Friday that fire officials suspected a golf cart battery charge as the cause of the blaze, which remained under investigation.
