JAY — Abby St. Clair scored off a direct kick just outside of the 18-yard box  to direct Spruce Mountain/Dirigo to a 1-0 victory over Buckfield (6-4-1) in a girls soccer game on Friday.

The goal came with 18 minutes remaining in the second half for the Phoenix (5-4).

Emma Towers stopped 13 shots for Spruce Mountain/Dirigo. Kianna Finnegan had four saves for Buckfield.

YARMOUTH 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Ava Feeley, Taylor Oranellas and Aine Powers all scored two goals to lift the Clippers (7-2) over the Patriots (2-5-2) in Yarmouth.

Cate King was the other goal scorer. Yarmouth keepers Regan Sullivan and Eden Young combined for three saves.

Isabelle Ross and Abby Joyce split goalkeeping duties for G-NG, combining for eight saves.


HALL-DALE 4, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1: Mira Skehan had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Rumford.

Torie Tibbetts added the other goal for Hall-Dale (4-4-1), while Faith McDougal and Kiley Rolfe had an assist apiece. Jade Graham made 10 saves.

Mountain Valley’s Ella Young scored in the third quarter. Brooke Brown stopped 12 shots for the Falcons (3-7-1).

WINTHROP 7, OAK HILL 0: Madeline Wagner turned in a hat trick and collected three assists to lead the Ramblers (9-2) to a victory over the Raiders (4-7) in Winthrop.

By halftime, Winthrop led 5-0. Bella Littler scored a pair of goals and picked up an assist. Julia Letourneau and Lauryn Wood each scored a goal. Rhyan Sawlivich earned an assist and winning goalie Madison Weymouth made three saves.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 7, TELSTAR 0: Caitlyn Brown scored two goals as the Phoenix (9-2) rolled to their victory over the Rebels (0-8) in Jay.


Mariyah Fournier, Ryleigh Castonguay, Mary Hamblin, Aaylah Herrera and Adell Pease each added a goal for Spruce Mountain, with assists going to Elizabeth Grondin, Castonguay, Miley Fournier and Olivia Mastine, who had two.

Winning goalie Hannah Jewett made four saves while Telstar netminder Bella Bennett stopped five shots.

MESSALONSKEE 3, LEWISTON 0: Candace Pelotte had 14 kills, five aces and two digs to lead the Eagles (9-1) to a victory over the Blue Devils (3-7) in Lewiston.

Julia Wade collected three blocks and a kill, Kyra Cumming had six kills and Elise McDonald had six aces and 11 assists for Messalonskee.

For Lewiston, Kaitlyn Shannon earned three aces and five kills. Nadifo Heban had four aces  and Kassy Cornejo came away with 11 assists.
