LEWISTON – Michael Kenneth Akerley, 70, of Lewiston, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2022. Born in Lewiston on Feb. 23, 1952, he was the son of Kenneth E. Akerley and Jeannine Dubois.
Educated locally, he went on to earn two Bachelor Degrees from the University of Southern Maine. Michael worked various jobs over the years before becoming disabled, and volunteered at the Franco American Heritage Center and at WRBC, where he did a show featuring Native American music.
Survivors include his mother, Jeannine Dubois of Oroville, Calif.; a son, Ian Springer; a brother, Patrick Akerley of Lewiston; and an uncle, Robert Akerley of Lewiston. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth, in 2021.
Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, followed by a service at Ss Peter Paul Basilica, lower church, at 1 p.m. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn. Memories may be shared at http://www.albert-burpee.com.
