Bates College kicker and punter Archie Green Jr. earned New England Small Collegiate Athletic Conference’s special team player of the week, announced by the conference Monday.

Green averaged 33 yards per punt in the Bobcats’ 27-23 win over Amherst College on Saturday, including pinning the Mammoths inside the 20-yard line twice. He also converted a season-high three extra points.

FIELD HOCKEY
PERKINS EARNS NECC AWARD: Former Winthrop field hockey standout Maddie Perkins, who’s now at Husson University, was named New England Collegiate Conference field hockey rookie of the week Monday.

Perkins scored a goal in the Eagles’ 3-0 victory over Thomas College on Saturday. Husson’s goalie, Kimmie Goddard, earned conference defensive player of the week honors after posting a six-save shutout against Thomas.



MEN’S SOCCER
CMCC 3, NHTI 1:
Oleksandr Bruno and Abdifatah Yussuf each netted a goal and an assist in the Mustangs’ (7-0-2) win over the Lynx (3-7-3) in Concord, New Hampshire.

Abdiraqib Yussuf also scored while Isidoro Domingues, Abdirahman Daud and Zoubeyr Abdillahi notched an assist each. Arnaud Nyagasaza stopped eight shots for Central Maine Community College.

Albert Busimba scored for New Hampshire Technical Instituate and Nick Weinmann provided the assist. Steven Swiderski made 16 saves in the loss.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
NHTI 3, CMCC 0:
Piper Flood scored twice for the Lynx (5-3) in the win over the Mustangs (2-5-2) in Concord, New Hampshire.

Megan Lancaster also scored in the win and Madison Lima stopped seven shots for the shutout.

Emma Knowles stopped nine shots in goal for Central Maine Community College.
