DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for getting the word out about the Fall Craft Fair at the Woman’s Literary Union. All the tables will be filled with assorted vendors’ wares and we’ll be ready for shoppers on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Foss Mansion at 19 Elm St. in Auburn.

There will be wreaths, jewelry, vintage items, knitting, crochet, quilting, wood crafts, pet items, Boyd Bears, American Girl doll clothes, baked goods, Christmas decorations, and much more.

The Woman’s Literary Union of Androscoggin County is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. For more information check womansliteraryunion.org or contact me at 795-6134. — Kathy, no town

ANSWER: Wonderful! I’m so glad those rented tables filled up for you!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m responding to the Oct. 17 Sun Spots regarding Marcel’s Barber Shop. My husband always had his hair cut by a woman there named Judy. Is this who that person could be speaking of? He wrote that her name is “Jin.” Judy has opened her own business on Sabattus Street in Lewiston right next to Grant’s Bakery. I hope this helps. — Linda, no town

ANSWER: Thank you for this! If Judy is the right barber, perhaps she knows where “Jin” is. Keep us posted!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the lighting in the Auburn Walmart parking lot, the management is aware of the issue and is waiting for repairs to be made. — Charlie, Auburn

ANSWER: This is a followup for the Oct. 17 Sun Spots about the lack of lighting in that area. Everything takes a while to be repaired these days. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon. While we’re all waiting for that to happen, be extra careful in that spot!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Four frames were delivered to me from an online order. Each frame was wrapped in no less than 10 feet of bubble wrap. Each length of wrap (with the small bubbles) is about 13 to 14 inches wide. Overpackaging drives me nuts.

Could anyone use the four pieces of bubble wrap for mailing packages, or perhaps a potter, or other fragile art project mailer could use this material. Please write to Sun Spots if you’re interested in this. — No name, no town

ANSWER: You may be able to take your bubble wrap to a UPS store. In my town, there’s a big bin just inside the door where you can add to the stash and they do use it. I know the “extra” wrapping seems like “too much” but it’s better than a broken item.

Now Sun Spotters, I’m once again gently reminding you that I’m not in the business of connecting you privately, nor should other readers have to write to Sun Spots and provide their contact information so you can get in touch with them.

If you have something to give away, or something you need, it’s up to you to provide your contact information along with your location so other readers know immediately if it’s worth their while to travel to get the item you’re offering or need. So, provide an email and/or phone number and the town where you live as directed below. You’ll get a better response and save others some of their valuable time. Please and thank you.
