We strongly support Bettyann Sheats for State Senate District 20, which includes Poland, Auburn, Durham, Minot and New Gloucester.
Bettyann has dedicated her life to public service, as illustrated by her eight years of service as an Army helicopter pilot after graduating from West Point, a long history of local volunteer and leadership roles, and two terms in the Maine Legislature.
She owns a small business in our community and understands the need to prepare our workforce by supporting trade schools and apprenticeships, and making college more affordable.
As a legislator, she fought to ban toxic chemicals that harm firefighters and our children and pollute our drinking water; she also worked to improve veterans’ access to health care.
Her opponent, Eric Brakey, voted against protecting firefighters and renters from toxic chemicals.
I hope people join us in voting for Bettyann.
