ANSWER: This is yet another opportunity to find some quality gifts and support an area nonprofit.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is there anyone in or around the Lewiston-Auburn area that knits Christmas stockings with a child’s name on it? I’m looking to have one made for our new grandson. Thanks for what you do. I read your column every morning. — Larry, no town

ANSWER: I’m putting this into Sun Spots Land because I’m positive some kind person will be willing to take on this project for you. There are many talented knitters and crafters in our midst. Let us know how it goes!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to publicly thank the unidentified man who stopped to help me up after I had fallen in Hannaford’s parking lot after depositing my returnable bottles. It was pouring rain and I slipped on wet leaves. I did not get your name, but you are indeed a true gentleman for stopping to see if I was OK and then helping me up. No good deed goes unnoticed. Thank you. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m so glad you’re OK and that one of the angels that wing their way through Sun Spots Land came to your aid.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Last Saturday, my mother and I took my aunt and cousin to breakfast at Rolly’s Diner before taking them to Portland for their flight home to Florida. When it came time to pay for our check, our waitress told us we were all set, that our check had been paid.

The only thing we know is that it was a gentleman sitting behind us, but he left before we could properly thank him. My relatives were in awe that a total stranger would do something like this. We told them how we read quite often in Sun Spots about generous people in our community who do these good deeds. This is the first time it has happened to us. They were going to tell family and friends about this when they got home.

We all say, “thank you!” to this special person for choosing us that Saturday morning. You made our day and we will certainly pay it forward! — Denise, no town

ANSWER: Stories about these restaurant angels are prevalent in Sun Spots Land and are my favorite! Have you been on the receiving end of this generosity or  have you been led to treat someone to a meal? I’d love to hear about it!
