DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is there an epilepsy support group in the Lewiston-Auburn area?—No name, no town

ANSWER: The Epilepsy Foundation New England (www.epilepsynewengland.org) can help you find support groups/services. It is located in Lowell, Massachusetts, and can be reached at 617- 506-6041. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all groups are virtual now but there are several to choose from and it gives you the opportunity to get support from home. Your health care provider should also be able to assist you with this.

Readers, if you or a loved one have epilepsy and know of local resources, please let us know.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I noticed the letter (Oct. 20 Sun Spots) from someone who had excess bubble wrap that had come in a shipment. All libraries that use the Minerva system use packing materials to protect fragile DVDs and audio CDs that are sent throughout the state. Anyone who has bubble wrap and padded envelopes in good condition should check with their local library to see if it is needed.—No name, Mexico

ANSWER: I did not know this. Thanks for the great idea.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for supplying many people with my information about Caning by Pam (chair caning) over the past several years.

I would like to ask you to remove me from your list since I have moved to Georgia and am no longer in the area to serve people.—Pam, no town

ANSWER: I am happy for Pam that she has moved to a warmer place, but sad for our readers who have praised Pam over the years for her skill and timely repair of caned chairs.

If you know of other craftsmen who cane chairs or do it yourself and want to spread the word, please share your information and I will spread it far and wide.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the Oct. 27 Sun Spots about stain removal, I have found success in removing all kinds of stains by using the following:In a spray bottle: Mix 1/3 cup ammonia, 1/3 cup water and 1/3 cup dishwashing liquid. Spray it on the stain and allow it to sit. If it is a stubborn stain, rub it with brown soap (Fels Naptha). I also add a 1/2 cup of Borax to the wash load along with regular detergent. This combination has never failed me.—Peggy, no town

ANSWER: You really bring out the big guns. Thank you.
