Gov. Janet Mills is a great listener, problem solver and consensus builder.
I have known her since 1980. She has always impressed me as an intelligent, thoughtful and dedicated community leader.
As a retired public school educator, I am grateful for Janet leading with way, with the Legislature, to finally honor the state’s obligation to fund our public schools at the 55% level.
This initiative was approved by Maine voters in 2003. No other administration has been able to meet this need. This provides property tax relief, while supporting our children, teachers and communities.
Janet has a remarkable record of accomplishments in her first term. The $850 relief checks that were given to eligible Mainers provided a huge direct relief for many of us. It was the best state inflation relief package in our country.
Gov. Mills has been working for us. She has earned our vote.
