TURNER — The Leavitt boys basketball team played its third straight down-t0-the-wire game, this time falling to Waterville 57-49 in overtime Thursday.

The Hornets defeated Fryeburg 58-57 in double overtime on Tuesday and lost on a 3-pointer right before buzzer last week to Mt. Ararat 48-45.

Spencer Minihan led the Purple Panthers with 15 points, highlighted by 7-of-8 shooting at the free throw line in overtime. Garrett Gendreau and Nick Poulin scored 12 apiece.

Brett Coburn returned to Leavitt’s lineup Thursday and was the game’s high scorer with 21 points. Sawyer Hathaway added 10 for the Hornets.

MT. BLUE 70 NOKOMIS 55: Chandler Briggs scored 18 points to lead the Cougars (4-1) to a victory over the Warriors (2-2) in Farmington.

Briggs drained four 3-pointers. Zack Poisson had 14 points for Mt. Blue, Evans Sterling scored 13 and Jayden Meader contributed 12.

Madden White and Grady Hartsgrove led Nokomis with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

MT. ABRAM 72, LISBON 47: The Roadrunners (3-1) bounced back from a slow first quarter and pulled away in the fourth to earn an MVC win over the Greyhounds (2-2) in Salem.

Lisbon led 15-3 after on quarter, and was still up 31-20 at halftime. Mt. Abram overtook the Greyhounds with a 27-11 third quarter, after which it led 47-42, and then built up a large lead with a 25-5 fourth.

Kaden Pillsbury paced the Roadrunners with 23 points, including 14 in the third quarter. Payton Mitchell contributed 17 and Cam Grey finished with 15. Grey hit three 3-pointers and Pillsbury sank two treys.

Chase Mailhot made three 3s and scored a team-high 15 for Lisbon. Levi Tibbetts added nine and Canaan Cameron had eight points.

DIRIGO 76, OAK HILL 28: Dakota Tompkins’ 18 points led the Cougars (5-0) in their win over the Raiders (1-4) in Wales.

Nathaniel Wainwright, who, like Tompkins, hit two 3-pointers, added 14 points, while Trenton Hutchinson and Airick Richard scored 11 apiece and Charlie Houghton finished with nine.

Ethan Vattaso was Oak Hill’s high scorer with 13 points.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 66, ST. DOMINIC 61: Landen Johnson had 20 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter, including 11 of 11 from the line, to power a 30-17 closing run as the Seagulls (5-0) downed the Saints (1-3) at Old Orchard Beach.

Brady Croteau added 18 points for Old Orchard Beach, which overcame a pair of 11-point deficits.

Campbell Perryman led three players in double figures for St. Dominic with 22 points. Jon Tangilamesu added with 12 and Jack Brock 11.

BUCKFIELD 51, WISCASSET 29: Ayden Jefferson scored 22 points, leading the Bucks (1-4) to their first victory of the season over the Wolverines (0-4) in Wiscasset.

Jaiden Jack chipped in 10 points, Gavin Charest had eight and Ty White scored six for Buckfield.

Jevar Garricks and Dylan Akers each scored nine points for Wiscasset.

MONMOUTH 53, NYA 37: Sammy Calder put up 27 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help the Mustangs (3-1) cruise past the Panthers (1-3) in Monmouth.

Manny Calder added 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, for Monmouth. Hunter Frost scored eight points and tallied 11 steals and two blocks, and Gavin Gregor dished out 10 assists and scored two points.

Gregor also played a key role in holding North Yarmouth Academy’s leading scorer, Moses Semuhoza, to 11 points, with 10 of those coming in the fourth quarter when the Mustangs had already built a large lead. Cal Nice and Nate Oney added nine points apiece for NYA.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 47, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 40: Ian York knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 17 points as the undefeated Phoenix (4-0) shook off the Falcons (1-3) in Rumford.

Elie Timler added 11 points and Can Dougher tallied 10 for Spruce Mountain.

Mountain Valley’s Zach New scored a team-high 12 points, while Leon Salmon contributed eight.

OXFORD HILLS 69, HAMPDEN 42: Teigan Pelletier dropped in 28 points and Eli Soehren hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points as the Vikings (4-0) shelved Broncos (2-3) in Hampden.

Cole Pulkkinen helped out Oxford Hills with 10 points.

Hampden’s JJ Wolfington scored a team-high 16 points, and Zach McLaughlin had 12.

LEWISTON 66, CHEVERUS 58: Yusuf Dakane’s 19 points led the Blue Devils (3-2) to a Class AA North road win over the Stags (3-2) in Portland.

Michael Klick and Caden Boone added 11 points each and Jibril Holloman scored 10 for Lewiston.

Silvano Ismail poured in 37 points for Cheverus, which also got nine points from Giovanni St. Onge.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 57, ST. DOM’S 12: Elise MacNair scored 15 of her 27 points during a 22-0 first quarter for the Seagulls (3-1) in a win over the Saints (1-3) at Old Orchard Beach.

Sarah Davis added nine points.

Charli Apodaca led St. Dom’s with eight points.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 58, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 26: Olivia Mastine scored 22 points and went 9-for-11 at the free-throw line to steer the undefeated Phoenix (4-0) victory over the Falcons (2-3) in Jay.

Avery Bessey chipped in 12 points for Spruce Mountain. Ali Mazza scored seven points to lead Mountain Valley.

CHEVERUS 53, LEWISTON 34: Ruth Boles scored 16 points, including 10 to fuel a 22-6 first quarter for the Stags (4-1) in a win over the Blue Devils (0-5) at Portland.

Cheverus got double-doubles from Emma Lizzotte (16 points, 12 rebounds) and Maddie Fitzpatrick (13 points, 12 rebounds).

Natalie Beaudoin paced Lewiston with 16 points.

NYA 74, MONMOUTH 19: Sarah English recorded 24 points and nine rebounds and went 10 for 10 at the free throw line as the Panthers (4-0) beat the Mustangs (2-2) in Yarmouth.

Angel Huntsman notched a double-double for North Yarmouth Academy with 11 points and 11 assists. Graca Bila had 10 points, and Madilyn Onorato blocked 10 shots.

Rileigh Chase led Monmouth with seven points.

WINDHAM 50, EDWARD LITTLE 32: Stella Jarvais scored 21 points to lead the Eagles (3-2) past the Red Eddies (1-4) at Windham.

Kylie Garrison also reached double figures with 10 points for Windham.

Aiwen Maiwen had 12 points to lead Edward Little.

DIRIGO 58, OAK HILL 38: Jayce Brophy lit up the scoreboard for 35 points, her second 30-plus-point game of the season, to lead the Cougars (2-1) to a home win over the Raiders (0-4) in Dixfield.

Brophy scored 31 in Dirigo’s season-opening win over Boothbay. In Thursday’s game she made 12 field goals, including a 3-pointer, and sank 10 of 12 attempts at the free throw line.

Grace Robbins added 12 points for the Cougars, while Kallie Errington contributed six points.

Ariana Thibault drained two treys and finished with a team-high 16 points for Oak Hill. Aubrey McElhaney added eight points.
