Elaine Gorman Stott

THE VILLAGES, Fla. – Elaine Gorman Stott, 87, of The Villages, Fla., died Jan. 16, 2023 after complications from a hip replacement.

Elaine was born in Lewiston, Maine and graduated from Edward Little High School and Colby College. She lived in Connecticut and Palm Beach County, Florida before moving to The Villages in 2008.

She worked at Bates College, Lake Worth Federal Savings and Loan, and Square D.

Elaine was known for her kindness and thoughtfulness, her deep devotion to animals, her excellent golf game, and for being an amazing friend.

Those who knew Elaine will remember her beautiful blue eyes, bright pink lipstick, huge smile, and perfectly ironed and coordinated outfits.

She volunteered her time and supported many organizations throughout her life, especially those that promoted health, education, and clothing for the needy – and always those that focused on the care of animals.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra Stott Gridley and Leveritt Gridley; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, Fla. followed by a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. in the SeaBreeze Recreation Center in The Villages, Fla.
