With an approaching storm predicted to drop 12 to 18 inches of snow on parts of Maine on Saturday, the Maine Principals’ Association announced Friday that all games scheduled for Saturday will be postponed until next week.
On Thursday, the MPA had postponed games scheduled for Saturday afternoon. On Friday, they also wiped out the Saturday night games.
Two Class A championship games are still on for Friday night at the Augusta Civic Center. Lawrence and Brunswick play for the girls’ title at 6:05 p.m. Brewer and Falmouth meet for the boys’ championship at 7:45 p.m.
Here is the updated schedule. All games will be televised on MPBN:
MONDAY
Class AA games will be played at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland. Oxford Hills meets Gorham for the girls’ championship at 6:05 p.m., followed by Portland versus South Portland in the boys’ game at 7:45 p.m.
Class D games will be at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Seacoast Christian meets Southern Aroostook in the girls’ game at 6:05 p.m. Forest Hills and Southern Aroostook play in the boys’ game at 7:45 p.m.
TUESDAY
Class B games will take place at the Portland Expo. Spruce Mountain plays Ellsworth for the girls’ title at 6:05 p.m. Oceanside plays Orono for the boys’ championship at 7:45 p.m.
Class C games will be at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Old Orchard Beach meets Dexter for the girls’ title at 6:05 p.m., followed by Calais versus Dirigo in the boys’ game at 7:45 p.m.
BOYS’ HOCKEY
The Class B South boys’ hockey semifinals also were postponed until Monday.
Brunswick, the No. 1 seed and defending state champion, will host No. 4 York at 5 p.m. at Watson Arena. Meanwhile, second-seeded Cape Elizabeth faces No. 3 Cheverus/Yarmouth at 5:10 p.m. at Troubh Ice Arena.
