Considering how many accidents are caused by or include people driving on suspended licenses, I think it is way past time we look at the laws around this issue.
If people are caught driving on a suspended license, I think the car they are driving should be impounded for the length of their suspension. Suspending someone’s license doesn’t keep them from driving — never has, never will.
But if the car is impounded, they don’t have a vehicle to drive. And if I know someone has a suspended license and my car could be impounded, that person certainly won’t be borrowing my car to drive.
We need tougher laws with regard to people having suspended licenses. Too many people are dying because so many people have no respect for the law or other people.
