JAY — The Select Board voted Monday to put two tax-foreclosed properties out to bid with no minimum price, Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere said Tuesday.
The Ricky Merchant Estate at 163 Macomber Hill Road is a property with a mobile home on 2 acres. There are also two vehicles, a 1998 GMC 1500 truck and a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox.
The estate owes $2,982.83 in taxes. Whoever bids on the property and is successful will pay the taxes through the bid, LaFreniere said. The board has the right to accept or reject any bid, she said.
The second property is owned by Donna Jewell at 7 Jewell St. The property includes a fire-damaged home on 0.46 of an acre.
The amount owed for taxes is $2,559.63 and the amount outstanding for a sewer lien is $1,364.91. It is a total of $3,924.54.
Bid information will be available after noon on Wednesday.
Bids on both properties are due by 4 p.m. on May 8.
Selectpersons also voted Monday to have their next meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the Town Office.
