(from a Sun Journal photo) Members of the First Universalist Church, 169 Pleasant St., Auburn, are following a tradition by inviting friends to attend the 10 a.m. Sunday service at the church. “People are surprised when they find out what Unitarian Universalism is,” says minister Johanna Nichols. Sunday’s sermon will be delivered by worship associate Jane Costlow. Her topic will be “Arbor Day: Grieving for the Trees.” From left are Costlow, Nichols and worship associate Sara Charpentier.
