AUBURN — St. Dom’s scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to survive a comeback by Mount View and earn a 14-13 softball win in the rain Wednesday.

The Saints (3-2) scored three runs in the first and five in the second to take an 8-2 lead. The contest was on pace to be a replay of their 25-7 win in the teams’ first meeting in Thorndike on April 26, but Mount View (2-6) continued to chip away at the deficit, scoring at least one run in all seven innings.

The Mustangs got within one run, 8-7, in the top of the fourth, but the Saints plated two in the bottom half of the inning. St. Dom’s also scored twice in the fifth to go up 12-8. But three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh put the Mustangs ahead 13-12 before the Saints bounced back in their half of the seventh, scoring the winning run with one out.

Maddie Andrews, Emily Andrews and Ellia Dick each had three hits for St. Dom’s. Emily Andrews and Sophia Franciose each scored three runs and drove in three runs. Maddie Andrews, who also scored three times, Dick and Kassidy Cote drove in two runs apiece.

Maddy Andrews, an eighth-grader, pitched all seven innings to earn the win. She struck out 10 and allowed nine hits and 18 walks.

Samantha Rainey went the distance for Mount View, striking out three, giving up 13 hits and walking seven.

Catcher Madison Roux finished with two hits and three RBIs for the Mustangs. Kelsea Doughty and Esmae Cote drove in two runs apiece, and Brooke Dyer scored four runs.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 14, CARRABEC 2: A five-run first inning propelled the Falcons (1-5) to victory over the Cobras (0-5) in North Anson.

Layce Boucher led Mountain Valley’s offense with two hits, a triple and a double on which she rounded the bases and scored a run due to a pair of Carrabec errors. Boucher also drove in a run and scored three.

The Falcons finished with 10 hits. Brooke Brown had two of those, including a double, and drove in four runs for the Falcons, and Ali Mazza also had two hits and scored twice.

Mountain Valley pitcher Lanee Boucher struck out five, walked three and allowed six hits in six innings to earn the win.

POLAND 8, WELLS 5: Olivia Rioux notched three hits and an RBI as the Knights (5-1) used an eight-run sixth inning to come from behind and beat the Warriors (2-3) on the road in Wells.

Khloe O’Leary added a double, a single and an RBI for Poland. Nicole Rioux tallied a two-run double and Gretchyn Paradis earned the win in the circle with 10 strikeouts.

Savannah Tardiff led Wells with two hits and an RBI. Delani Brown pitched all seven innings and took the loss.

GIRLS LACROSSE
CONY 9, OXFORD HILLS 8: Maci Freeman had three goals to lead the Rams to a win over the Vikings in Augusta.

Abby Morrill had two goals and an assist, while Azabell Assaf added two goals for Cony (4-1). Dinah Wadleigh and Casey Monson each had a goal for Cony. Goalie Madi Chavarie made six saves.

Mallory Kennison score two goals and had two assists for Oxford Hills (3-3), while Isabella Pelletier added two goals.

LINCOLN 17, MT. BLUE 11: Mariam Delisle totaled seven goals and an assist, while Marley LeBel had six goals and two assists to power the Eagles (3-1) to a victory over the Cougars (4-1) in Newcastle.

Celia Brinker, Sophie Day, Abby Kopp and Riley LeBel also scored for Lincoln. Eagles goalie Hunter Gilmore finished with nine saves.

Chloe Roberts led Mt. Blue with four goals and three assists. Maya Kellett added three goals.
