Austin Teras made his first feature race of the season at Oxford Plains Speedway a triumphant one.

The Gray native captured the checkered flag in Sunday’s Pro All Stars Series 150-lap Super Late Model feature at the track, topping a 28-car field that included former Oxford 250 winners Travis Benjamin, Mike Rowe, Jonny Clark and Jeremy Whorff.

Sunday’s podium had a younger feel, as the 20-year-old Teras was joined by runner-up Garrett Hall and third-place finisher Trevor Sanborn. Sanborn, now driving for Richard Moody Racing, raced for Teras’s father, Jay Cushman, earlier in his career.

Max Cookson finished fourth, followed by Dennis Spencer Jr., DJ Shaw and recent Oxford Plains winner Kyle DeSouza.

Benjamin, Rowe and Clark placed 11th through 13th, and Whorff finished 17th.

Other winner Sunday included Evan Roy (PASS Mods), Brandon Johnson (Street Stocks), Pat Thorne (Limiteds), Charlie Hall (Thunder Stocks), and Corey Morgan (Mad Bombers).

WISCASSET WINNERS

There was a four-pack of first wins of the season Saturday at Wiscasset Speedway, though not every victory had the same meaning.

Adam Chadbourne is no stranger to victory lane at the track, but Saturday was the first time in 2023 that he took his Modified ride to center stage. It was a milestone victory for Chadbourne, who picked up his 70th career win at Wiscasset.

For Wade Kennedy, his victory in the Strictly Streets was career win No. 1 at Wiscasset Speedway.

Jet Decker (Late Model Sportsman) and Jimmy Childs (Outlaw Minis) also took the checkered flag for the first time this year in their respective divisions.

Rob Richardi won the feature for the visiting New England Pro 4 Modifieds.

BOWLES WINS NESS OPENER

The New England Supermodified Series kicked off its second season Friday night at Thunder Road. Dan Bowles topped the 10-car field to win the 75-lap feature, with multi-time winner in 2022 Jon McKennedy finishing as the runner-up.

THURSDAY ACCELERATION

Oxford Plains Speedway’s Oxford Acceleration Series held its first Thursday night action this past week. Feature winners included Breeanna Tucci (Ladies), John Childs (Cruisers), Cole McIntire (Trucks), Matt Mahar (Rebels), David Vaughn (Outlaws), Joshua Cook (Jr. Rookies), Greg Sessions (division debut for Varsity Thunder Stocks), and Addison Bowie (Wicked Good Hobby Division).
