LEWISTON — The deadline for returning nomination papers for the November municipal election is past and the races for mayor, City Council and School Committee are set.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7.

MAYOR

In the race for mayor, four candidates have qualified to appear on the ballot: incumbent Carl Sheline, Josh Pietrowicz, Luke Jensen and Jon Connor.

The winner will serve a three-year term, part of the city’s structure to shift to staggered terms for municipal seats.

Sheline, serving his first two-year term, announced his reelection campaign in late May.

Jensen is a former School Committee member and city councilor, resigning in 2021 a few months before his term was set to expire. He also previously ran for mayor.

Connor is a former state representative for District 96, losing narrowly in a bid for reelection last year.
