LEWISTON – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Earle Marr, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023. He was 69 years old.

Born in Bridgton, Maine, on March 23, 1954, Frank brought joy and light into the lives of all who knew him. He spent his early years growing up in the picturesque town of Waterford, Maine, where he formed lasting friendships and built a strong foundation for his future. Frank, lovingly known as “Stubby,” was known for his kind-hearted nature, genuine smile, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones.

Frank eventually found his way to Rumford, where he established a life filled with love, purpose, and memories. Here, he embraced the roles that brought him the most fulfillment: that of a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a true friend.

He was a dedicated employee for 37 years at Bancroft Construction. He held many titles, from Millwright to Project Manager. He approached his work with diligence and a sense of responsibility earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers.

Family was the cornerstone of Frank’s life. He had an unmatched knack for making everyone feel valued, and his presence at family events and cheering from the sidelines at sports games was a testament to his unwavering support and commitment. His wisdom and compassion provided guidance during times of uncertainty, and his ability to bring joy to even the simplest of moments was a gift he generously shared. His grandchildren looked up to him as a role model, inspired by his ability to live life fully and appreciate its smallest pleasures.

Frank leaves behind a legacy of warmth, love, and unwavering strength. He is survived by his three sons, Joshua Marr (wife Abbie, sons Owen and Anderson of Norway), Shawn Marr (wife Blair, sons Wyatt, Connor and daughters Harper and Quinn of Wilton), Matt Marr (fiancé Katie of Rumford and soon to be son Roger) daughter Mandy Rand (husband Jason, sons Oliver and Simon of Florida) who will forever cherish the countless memories they shared together. While the ache of his absence is profound, the family finds solace in the enduring memories they shared and the values he instilled in them.

In addition to his role as a father and grandfather, Frank was a beloved brother to eight sisters and three brothers. His strong and cherished relationships with his brothers and sisters were a testament to the deep bonds of family that shaped his life.

Frank’s presence may have changed, but the love and values he leaves behind remain as a guiding light for his family. His unwavering love will continue to inspire them as they move forward, forever connected by the bonds he nurtured.
