Seth Bowden, Nokomis: Bowden ran for 144 yards on eight carries as the Warriors amassed 320 yards rushing in a a 38-12 victory over Maine Central Institute. Teammate Oakley Prescott ran for 120 yards on 27 carries.

Reegan Buck, Portland: Buck ran for 77 yards on 18 carries and had two catches for 58 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown pass from Louis Thurston with 48 seconds to play, giving the Bulldogs a 35-28 victory at Thornton Academy.

Chase Burgess, Gardiner: Burgess threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 38 yards and another TD as the Tigers defeated Mt. Blue, 37-12.

Joey Foley, Deering: Foley rushed for two touchdowns in the Rams’ 17-7 victory at Marshwood. The game marked the debut of Deering Coach Brendan Scully for a program that won one game the previous two seasons combined.

Trevor Gerrish, Brunswick: Gerrish had 11 catches for 274 yards and four touchdowns as Brunswick marked its debut in eight-man football with a 54-26 victory at Gray-New Gloucester. Dragons quarterback Cam Beal threw for 357 yards and five touchdowns.

Will Keach, Leavitt: Keach had an 80-yard touchdown reception and TD runs of 9 and 23 yards as the defending Class C champion Hornets opened with a 45-8 victory over Fryeburg Academy.

Jamier Rose, Noble: Rose had 18 carries for 183 yards and four touchdowns, and completed 8 of 11 passes for 59 yards as the Knights marked their return to Class A with a 33-14 win at Edward Little. Rose also intercepted a pass on defense.

Brady Truman, Oxford Hills: Truman debuted Friday as the Vikings’ No. 1 quarterback after filling in as the starter last season when Eli Soehren, the Fitzpatrick Trophy winner, was injured. Truman threw for 258 yards and four touchdowns as the defending Class A champs opened with a 43-0 win at Lewiston.
