Over the past six years, I have sat on the Auburn School Committee. During that time I’ve never seen a mayor take his seat on the committee.
When Mayor Jason Levesque took the seat two years ago, and was appointed chair of the finance committee, I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
What I found during the past two years was someone who was engaged, worked effectively with the committee, brought forth solid recommendations, and asked necessary questions.
His advocacy/intention for both the taxpayer and quality education has always been top priority. Ensuring our teachers/staff receive what they needed in the classroom to listening to parents’ concerns/ideas is one of the reasons our schools are flourishing.
As I leave the committee, I want everyone in Auburn to know how effective Jason has been in these roles. I hope that he continues to serve in both capacities.
