Priscilla Bernadette Fournier

LEWISTON – Priscilla Fournier, 86, of Lewiston, Maine passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Hospice house after a sudden illness. She will be very much missed by her family and friends.

Priscilla was born in Grand Isle, Maine. She was the youngest child of eight born to Edward Augustus Sirois and Josephine Lagasse Sirois. Priscilla was raised in Lille, Maine until the age of 18 when she and her parents relocated to Lewiston, Maine.

Priscilla began her work in the textile mills and then worked many years as a dedicated certified nurse’s assistant both in private homes and at D’Youville Pavilion where she retired at age 62. She then enjoyed time caring for her grandchildren during the day. She also worked several years as a volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul second hand store. Priscilla enjoyed to read, watch birds and chase the squirrels. She loved celebrating with her family. She had good friends, especially Loretta Boucher, with whom she enjoyed community theatre shows.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Fournier in 1993, her parents, her brothers; Adrien, Gilman, Fern, Ralph and Donald.

She is survived by her two sisters, Gertrude Turk and Jackie Bossie of Connecticut; nieces and nephews: Her son, James and his wife Joy; her daughters, Jackie Fournier and partner, Pam Hetherly, Jane Carver and her husband, Herb, Jeane Linehan and her husband, Paul; Granddaughters, Kelly Carver, Shelby Carver, Paige Linehan, Madison Fournier and Meaghan Fournier.

We thank the staff of the Androscoggin Hospice House for their wonderful care and mission. We would also like to thank Monique for her support to us and mom during her passing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 8, at 11 a.m., at Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul (upper church) 122 Ash St., Lewiston immediately followed by a committal service at St. Peters Cemetery in Lewiston.
