FARMINGTON — Cade McHugh scored early in the second half as the University of Maine at Farmington blanked Thomas College 1-0 in a men’s soccer game Wednesday at Leib Field.
Zach Chaisson and Trevor Krueger recorded assists on McHugh’s 51st-minute goal.
Jackson Leach made one save for the shutout. St. Dom’s grad Matthew Gosselin made one save while playing the first half for the Terriers, and Jayce Neilsen made a save of his own in the second half.
FIELD HOCKEY
BOWDOIN 6, UMF 0: Caroline Higgins had two goals and an assist for the Polar Bears (7-2) in the win against the Beavers (1-9) in Brunswick.
Olivia Cunningham had a goal and an assist for Bowdoin. Emily Ferguson, Sophia Rosati and Sage Patel also scored. Maya Malenfant had a pair of assists.
Ella Grant made five saves in net for the Beavers. Lauren O’Donald stopped UMF’s lone shot on goal, and Julia Arsenault also saw time at goalie for Bowdoin.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
CMCC 7, UMA 0: Natalie Tracy and Alexis Finn helped power the Mustangs (4-4-1) past the Moose (2-5) in Auburn.
Tracy scored two goals and added one assist and Finn tallied a goal and two assists for Central Maine Community College, which led 3-0 at halftime on goals by Leavitt gradd Katie Blouin, Tracy and Oak Hill grad Finn.
Tracy’s second-half goal was sandwiched between Lakyn Hink’s converted penalty kick and a second goal off an assist from Finn. Fellow Oak Hill grad Emily Dillman rounded out the scoring.
Monmouth grad Mya Sirois, Blouin and Nicole Salvadori recorded assists for the Mustangs.
Emma Knowles made two saves in goal during the first half and Lewiston grad Ava Simpson made two more in the second half. UMaine-Augusta also split goalkeeping duties, with Haley Guilmet making eight saves in the first half and Hope Lovell matching that total after halftime.
