First, the Mustangs (9-1, 9-0 YSCC) faced Paul Smith’s College (11-6, 8-2), the conference’s No. 2 team. The last time the team’s played, CMCC earned a hard-fought five-set victory. This time, they defeated the Bobcats in three sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-16. Libero Gloria Seaman had 32 digs for the Mustangs, while Bills had three blocks and Cormier and Gia Cooper added two apiece.

In its second match, CMCC swept Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences 25-11, 25-17, 25-11. Seaman and Angelina Leonard served five aces each.

“I was really happy with how we played today, we did the little things right,” CMCC coach Kyle Chapman said. “We played great defense, worked really hard in transition and were able to convert that into offense. We still made a fair share of errors, but for the most part we did not try to do too much.”
