I am sending love and prayers to everyone. We are all shocked mass shootings have arrived in Maine.

While police were still searching for the shooter our local members of Congress had a press conference. Rep. Jared Golden rolled back his stance on assault weapons, while Sen. Collins did not.

She noted, “What makes this crime so heinous, is in a typical year Maine might have 22 murders, and last night we almost approached the number for the entire year.”

However, this fact has zero impact on her desire for gun control legislation. She offered a feeble compromise on magazines.

Since the loss of gun legislation, mass shootings have increased exponentially. Guns are the leading cause of death in children.

All over the world there are people from broken homes, people with mental illness, people who play violent video games and more. However there is not country in the world that has as many mass shootings as the United States.

Gun legislation makes a difference. The arrival of mass shootings in Maine will always be tied in my mind with Congress refusing to allow gun legislation.
