Clem Bechard was right in writing that “the criminal will always find a way to get a gun” (“Can’t go along with the ‘blame the gun’ argument,” Nov. 4). Especially since it’s so easy to get one right now.
Oh, and Robert Card wasn’t a criminal until he went on his shooting spree. So law-abiding citizens should have gone bowling or to play cornhole while bringing their weapons to defend themselves? Get real.
People can’t take just one side. Mental health and guns are both valid issues. Those who exclude guns as a cause to the type of slaughter we see are just blind to reality.
I’m sure those who argue that it’s solely a mental health issue are willing to pay higher taxes to provide better health coverage — right, GOP?
