Power outages were fluctuating Wednesday morning as a storm rolled through southern and midcoast Maine.

As many as 3,100 homes without power just before 11 a.m. Just a few hours earlier, outages had dropped from 2,400 to 800 homes, according to Central Maine Power.

Most of the outages by late morning were in Cumberland County in Standish, Sebago and Baldwin.

CMP was also reporting smaller numbers of outages in Lincoln, Oxford, Waldo and York counties.

The company updates its outage list regularly.

The National Weather Service says another one to two inches of rain before 5 p.m. is possible, and to expect wind gusts that could get as high as 30 miles per her hour.
