AUBURN — Chef Larry Canepa is set to be the featured speaker at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at a program presented by the Auburn Public Library and the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn Senior College.
This time his talk will be focused not on simply food, but the celebrations themselves.
The program will be held in the library’s Androscoggin Room at 49 Spring St.
This presentation aims to introduce attendees to traditions and celebrations that take place all over the globe, according to a news release from Diane Clay of the Senior College Board.
Canepa, a certified culinary educator, presents classes on food and culture on Zoom. His motto is “to eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
