Doris M. Ham

LISBON – Doris M. Ham, 84, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully on Nov. 29, 2023 at Lamp Memory Care.

Doris was born on Nov. 2nd, 1939, a daughter to Lionel and Noema (Bonneau) Renaud. She was born and raised in Lewiston, attending local schools and graduating from Lewiston High School. In her working years, Doris spent her career working as a Member Service Representative for both St Croix Credit Union and Lisbon Community FCU.

She married her first husband Richard Mathieu in 1962. The two had a beautiful daughter Denise and spent many wonderful years of marriage together before his passing in 1977. She was later married to Stephen Ham, who was greatly adored by both Doris and Denise. He sadly passed in 2012.

Doris was caring and compassionate woman who enjoyed the simpler, yet more meaningful things in life. She loved spending time outdoors feeding her local birds, deer and chipmunks. She also loved camping at River Bend Campground and the occasional shopping trip when she was able! Most importantly, Doris loved spending time with her family and her darling cat Bella, a petite little girl which whom she lived for. Bella recently found her new human parents since losing her mom.

Doris was a proud woman, but was never one to brag. She always did what needed to be done. Since day one, her first priority was always her family and ensuring they were well taken care of. Doris was a caretaker at heart, even from early childhood. She took care of her “baby brother” to help her mother, and took exceptional care of her husbands when they became ill. She got them both through trying times and never once complained. When Doris became ill with dementia, it was a hard transition from caretaker to being the one needing care. She woke up every day and gave it her very best effort. Smiling at times and other times, crying to be like she used to be.

Doris Ham is a one of a kind woman, and will never be replaced in the hearts of those who love her.

She was predeceased by her parents, and her late husbands Richard Mathieu (1977) and Stephen Ham (2012).

Doris is survived by her daughter Denise D. Dube and her husband Joseph Dube of Lisbon; her brothers Richard Renaud and wife Joanne of Lewiston and Normand Renaud and wife Rita of Lisbon. She also leaves behind her three stepdaughters Lori Ham of Sabattus, Christy Ham of Wales and Kim and Zeke Moore of Wales; as well as her grandchildren Colby McKay of Durham, Taylor Moore of Wales and Logan Moore of Wales. Doris is also survived by her niece and Godchild Christine Renaud and her husband Saul Lopez of Gray, as well as their child and Doris’s Grandniece Elora Renaud. Last but not least, Doris leaves behind her beloved cat Bella.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lamp Memory Care in Lisbon. Although her time there was short, her care was excellent. A big thank you to CMMC and Dr. Reagan for fixing her broken hip. The surgery went very well, but unfortunately the Lord needed to call her home. An extra big thank you to Jennifer Doyon-Favreau and her baby Ellie. They were blessed to have Jen come into their home every day to get Doris through her mornings, she would not have been able to stay at home as long as she did had it not been for Jen. Doris will greatly miss seeing Baby Ellie.

At request of the family, services will be private.

Arrangements are under the care of Crosman Funeral Home | 40 Main Street Lisbon Falls, ME 04252 | (207) 353-4951.
