I write in rebuttal to the letter published Nov. 28 from Rep. Tammy Schmersal-Burgess, state Senate candidate Joseph Martin, and former state Rep. Dick Pickett, titled “Politicians like Golden must walk the walk.”

They wrote about Rep. Jared Golden’s honesty, integrity and being “woke.” They have more gall than a herd of elephants. Jared is a veteran who has more guts, integrity, and honesty than anyone who supported Donald Trump, who is internationally known as a serial liar and in the states where he bankrupted casinos and other businesses — in New York and New Jersey.

“The Squad” is a GOP invention and only exists in a Trumpist mindset. It’s not just the lies that have become predominant to GOP rhetoric. It’s the obvious trashing of the law and our Constitution.

There are no Democrats as extreme as U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene or George Santos.

We will stay “woke” and they can stay in a Trump-induced coma.
