MINOT – Lorraine Rita Brown passed away peacefully Tuesday Nov. 28, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. She was born July 29, 1942, to Maxwell and Cecile (Roy) Dumont in Lewiston. Lorraine graduated from Lewiston High School in 1961.

After graduating from high school she worked for Bedard Pharmacy in Lewiston. She then met her former husband Robert Lacombe, they raised their three children.

After raising her children Lorraine went to work in the business offices at Russell Park Manor and CMMC. She served on the PTA board at Farwell Elementary School, she belonged to the Patronesses of St. Mary’s Hospital and recently served on the Chiropractic Board of the State of Maine. Later in life Lorraine met her late husband Maynard E Brown. They were married for 28 years until his death in 2017.

One of Lorraine’s favorite pastimes was shopping and vacationing with family and friends. Family meant everything to Lorraine, she so enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s lives. She attended numerous dance recitals, sporting events, graduations and special event parties. She was the first face you would see after the birth of a new family member. Christmas Eve at her house was extremely special for her and her family. Lorraine was always the best dressed person in the room, so classy and elegant. She was the heart of our family and will be greatly missed.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Denise Boutin and son-in-law, Michael Boutin of Hartford, son, Richard Lacombe and daughter-in-law, Tami Lacombe of Sabattus, and son, Dennis Lacombe and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lacombe of Mechanic Falls; grandchildren, Shannon Boutin, Elise Harvey, Moriah Ranade, Michelle Boutin, Katie Lacombe, Ricky Lacombe, Brianna Colgrove, Alex Lacombe, Sydney Lacombe and Peter Lacombe; and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Rita Dion and husband, Andy Dion of Boca Raton, Fla., two brothers, Robert Dumont of Lewiston and Paul Dumont and wife, Bonny Dumont of Williamsburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews; stepson, David Brown and wife, Lisa Brown of Durham.

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Maynard E. Brown of 28 years in 2017; her parents Maxwell and Cecile Dumont; and her siblings Richard Dumont, Victor Dumont and Jeanette Bernard; stepson, Michael Brown and stepdaughter, Leanne Binette.

The family wishes to thank the loving dedicated staff at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Dec. 12, from 3-6 p.m. at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St., Auburn. A Liturgy of the Word Celebration will take place on Dec. 13, at 11 a.m., at The Fortin Group, 217 Turner St., Auburn.
