PARIS — A West Paris man faces four felony charges stemming from a July crash in Oxford.

An Oxford County grand jury handed up six charges Friday against David Sisson, 27, including four felonies, each punishable by up to five years in prison.

Sisson faces charges of eluding an officer, driving to endanger, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and theft by unauthorized taking.

He also was charged with operating after suspension and violation of condition of release, each misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail.

Police said Sisson was driving a pickup truck on Route 26 the night of July 30 during a police chase when the truck slammed into the back of an SUV.

The crash injured Sisson, his passenger and the driver of the SUV, police said.

Police said an Oxford officer was seeking to pull Sisson over at about 8:45 p.m. on Main Street in Oxford, also known as Route 26.

A chase ensued for less than a minute before the 2005 GMC pickup truck driven by Sisson slammed into the back of an SUV in front of the Route 26 Antiques.

Sisson was released from Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway where he was treated for injuries and taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris where he was processed on the criminal charges, police said.
