MEN’S BASKETBALL
UMPI 77, UMF 68: A big second half pushed the Owls (6-9) past the Beavers (9-7) in Presque Isle.

UMaine-Farmington was ahead 40-34 at halftime, but then was outscored by UMaine-Presque Isle 43-28 after the break.

Dany Harris led the Owls with 17 points, while Gilbert Jean Mendez chipped in 16 points and Doug McCalla added 12.

UMF’s Simon Chadbourne led all scorers with 20 points. Jordan Anthony finished with 16 and Zachary Mikle scored 12. Jason Reynolds pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds for the Beavers.

BRYANT & STRATTON-ALBANY 71, CMCC 65: The Bobcats (8-5) took the lead late in the first half and never relinquished it on their way to a win over the Mustangs (5-9) in Auburn.

Amari Scott hit a 3-pointer with five seconds remaining in the first half to give Bryant & Stratton Albany the lead for good and send the game into halftime with the Bobcats up 29-28. Their lead reached as high as 11 points in the second half.

Scott made five 3s and tied with Devon Smith-Johnson for the scoring game-high of 19 points. Smith-Johnson also grabbed 12 rebounds.

Boston Caldwell led Central Maine Community College with 14 points. Jeremiah Simeon added 13 points, and Wyatt Hathaway hit three 3-pointesr and scored 11 points.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
UMF 53, UMPI 48: The Beavers (6-10, 3-3 North Atlantic Conference) turned a five-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter into a five points win over the Owls (7-5, 3-2) in Presque Isle.

Presque Isle controlled the middle two quarters and led 41-36 at the end of the third. UMaine-Farmington scored the first nine points of the fourth, during which it outscored UMPI 17-7.

Sarah Poli led UMF with a double-double, tallying 10 points and 16 rebounds. Ruby McMinis was the Beavers’ top scorer with 13 points, and Jessica Down scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Alexis Ireland netted a game-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Owls, while Olivia Gray added 16 points.
