FARMINGTON — Ethan Whitney has been named the Farmington Police Department’s officer of the year for 2023.
Chief Kenneth A. Charles said in a statement that he recognized Whitney for his “community relations, proactive efforts, professionalism, and discipline.”
“On numerous occasions, I have been approached by community members and partner agencies with whom you had contact during the year,” Charles said. “For community members to take the time to comment on your demeanor and professionalism speaks volumes to your ability to promote community relations.”
Whitney, a member of the Franklin County Critical Incident Stress Management Team, has also sought certification as a Mechanics of Arrest, Restraint and Control (MARC) instructor and been trained to served as the department’s civil rights officer.
