100 Years Ago: 1924

There will be a rehearsal of the combined orchestras of Edward Little and Jordan High at the auditorium of the Dingley Training School in Lewiston this afternoon at 4 o’clock.

50 Years Ago: 1974

Dr. Jacqueline Poirier of Whitney St, Auburn entertained the Ruth Circle of the Auburn United Methodist Women when Mrs. Olive Curtis led the opening devotions. It was voted to study the Maine Indians. An auction was held and refreshments were served by Mrs. Orvis Bunney and Mrs.Louise Record. Mrs. Pearl Haynes attended as a guest.

25 Years Ago: 1999

Dr. Draper Hunt, retired professor of history at the University of Southern Maine, will speak before the New Gloucester Historical Society at the Village Meetinghouse on Interval Road. He will talk on “Abraham Lincoln and Hannibal Hamlin.” A short meeting will precede the talk.
