CANTON — A motorcyclist slowing for a school bus ahead was killed Monday evening when a vehicle struck the bike from behind on Turner Street, according to Oxford County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy James Urquhart.
The identity of the deceased was being withheld pending notification of family.
Urquhart said the motorcyclist was traveling behind a school bus, which was slowing for traffic near 474 Turner St., when an approaching vehicle struck the motorcycle from behind, sending the operator to the pavement.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, Urquhart said.
A crash reconstructionist was investigating as of about 8 p.m.
