Whatever happened to “Maine: The Way Life Should Be”?

Our governor and some legislators are intent on making Maine a go-to destination for abortion-on-demand and gender care (including for minors without parental notification). Where did “Vacationland” go?

L.D. 227 is presented as a bill for reproductive and gender health care to protect medical providers. Who is going to protect the unborn and minors from some of these doctors?

The unborn child has the exact same needs as the born child — food, oxygen, water and a safe place to reside while growing toward independence. Interruption of any of these necessities would kill the child and deny that child a chance for their turn to feel the world around them.

Around 1,800 years ago, the Hippocratic Oath affirmed “do no harm.” In 1948, the Declaration of Geneva was adopted by the World Medical Association to address medical ethics post World War II. Until 1994 it read “I will maintain the utmost respect for human life, from the time of its conception …”

There’s not a lot of difference between abortion on demand and slavery — one person having the ultimate decision over another human being’s existence. Both were “legal” for a time.

Ravi Zacharias stated that “We have a right to believe whatever we want, but not everything we believe is right.” Some smart fellow observed “there are three things you cannot change … yesterday/truth/yourself.”

The truth is, L.D. 227, unrestrained abortion and messing with youngsters’ gender, is bad.
