I recently heard Rep. Laurel Libby say that before she got involved in grassroots advocacy she thought she was doing her patriotic duty by just voting.
That is my story as well. I stayed away from political action. I was too busy with other important things: work, family and life in general.
I now know that I own responsibility for where we are today. The liberty we have enjoyed up to now has costs. This republic is worth saving.
I am inspired by this representative: a small business owner, trained as a nurse, and with young children at home. She is fighting for liberty in Maine. If she can do it, so can I. I may not run for office, but I can support campaigns of like-minded candidates with my time and money.
I surely know at a gut level that freedom isn’t free. It needs protecting by “We the People.”
